The schools and training system for doctors are explained in the section on Medical Schools and Training. Before being treated by a Tibetan doctor check where and for how long the doctor trained. Many famous doctors have been trained through the monastic system so not all good doctors have been through the established formal medical colleges.

We shall soon be creating a section of TibetMed for biographies of esteemed Tibetan doctors. Their biographies will be listed by the country in which they now reside. Check out the section on Medical Schools and Training for this additional section.
