Q: I have constant very strong back pain since 6 years (disk surgery 12 years ago L4/L5). I need opiates 3 times a day. What Tibetan Medicine or treatment could help me?

- Beate, Ireland

A:
As your strong back pain is a chronic problem and you have already had surgery, I cannot say that Tibetan Medicine could help you at this time without a consultation and full information on your physical condition. Generally, Tibetan Medicine is very helpful and effective for chronic problems, especially disorders of the nervous system, indigestion, jaundice, arthritis, and rLung related diseases, such as depression or insomnia.

I would recommend you consult with a Tibetan Medicine practitioner as soon as you can. Until you do, you can follow these food restrictions. Avoid cold food and drinks, and do not swim in cold water for a long time. Do not eat unripe fruits, especially potatoes and tomatoes. Try to restrict your use of strong pain killers.

When you do find a Tibetan doctor, as well as giving you a diagnosis, the doctor will give more precise food restrictions according to your general condition of health and the cause of your problem.
