Q: Is there any Tibetan Medicine treatment for Alzheimer's disease? If so, please indicate.

- Anonymous, Bronx, NY

A:
Alzheimer's disease is difficult to treat. According to Tibetan medicine philosophy it is very hard to get any treatment effect with medicines, because the primary cause of Alzheimer's disease relates to a disturbance of the energy channel that comes though the brain, running adjacent to the central channel. It extends from the level of the eyebrows to the navel.

Alzheimer's may occur in middle age but more usually from the age of about 60, and particularly in people who have have rLung personalities. When the rLung becomes disturbed it affects the energy channel and manifests as different symptoms including very serious memory loss. Patients may be told to pay special attention to calm, regular activities and lifestyle.

Alzheimer's can also occur from a sudden accident or other cause affecting this energy channel. Tibetan Medicine might sometimes help with cases of Alzheimer's disease. It is worth trying.
